ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Republican Claudia Tenney has won reelection in New York's 24th Congressional District.
The Associated Press called the race shortly before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Incumbent Republican Claudia Tenney has held the seat since January, 2023. She was first elected to NY-22nd in 2016, lost a reelection campaign, and was elected again in 2020. She won the 2022 election for NY-24th after New York State's election map redistricting.
The challenger, Democrat David Wagenhauser, is a First Amendment, public interest attorney and former Brockport Village Trustee.
The 24th district contains Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Wayne, and Cayuga counties as well as parts of Niagara, Orleans, Oswego, and Jefferson counties.
