19yearold arrested after stolen gun found in his Porterville bedroom, police say

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An alleged gang member and his associate were arrested Saturday afternoon after police executed a search warrant in Porterville.
According to Porterville Police, detectives served a search warrant on the 1400 block of South Plano Street around 12:30 p.m. after learning that 19-year-old Porterville resident and active gang member, Jessie Bentley, was in possession of a firearm.
Upon arrival, detectives say they found gang indicia and a loaded .22 caliber revolver, which was previously reported as stolen, in Bentley’s bedroom.
Edward Cuella, 44, of Porterville, was also in the home at the time of the search warrant. Police say Cuellar was found in possession of methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe.
Bentley was arrested for possession of stolen property, being a gang member in possession of a firearm, and being a minor in possession of a firearm. He was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility where he is being held on a $35,000 bail.
According to officers, Bentley was also arrested in December 2023 for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a loaded firearm in public, negligent discharge of a firearm, false imprisonment, and conspiracy.
Cuellar was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and signed an Agreement to Appear and provided with a future court date.
