RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Democratic U.S. Rep. Jennifer McClellan has won her first full term in Congress after defeating Republican Bill Moher in Virginia’s 4th Congressional District race, according to the Associated Press.
McClellan, a former state senator and corporate attorney for Verizon, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2023 after winning a special election to fill the 4th District seat following the death of Rep. A. Donald McEachin.
Moher, an entrepreneur and investor, backs “limited government, individual liberties, and free-market principles, with a focus on defending Second Amendment rights, promoting energy independence, and dismantling the Big Government-Big Tech oligarchy,” per his campaign website.
Virginia’s 4th Congressional District, seen as a Democratic stronghold, is anchored in the city of Richmond but extends down to the North Carolina border.
All election results are unofficial until certified.
