Picozzi first became mayor in 2020 and ran unopposed for a second term in 2022, when voters approved term limits for that office and the City Council. He told 12 News he plans to continue the work he's been doing the past four years, touting that the city's finances are in good shape and they're building for the future.
One of the biggest issues in Warwick is the plan to build two new high schools, the cost of which was recently revealed to be nearly $40 million more than the $350,000 bond approved by voters two years ago.
Hazelwood, who represents District 2 on the school committee, said she believes that issue should be sent back to the voters, and she said her years of experience with schools is why she should be the next mayor.
Maloney, a veteran and small business owner, told 12 News he wants to see more transparency on the school issue, and he's also focused on improving the city's financial situation.
