EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Incumbent El Paso County Tax Assessor-Collector Ruben P. Gonzalez appears to be headed to victory against Dave Marino after the latest voting results were released at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Democrat Gonzalez is leading with 77.70 percent or 138,139 votes, followed by Libertarian Marino with 22.30 percent or 39,655 votes. Gonzalez, who has served in the position since 2017, defeated Art Lujan Seelig in the Democratic primary. Marino ran unopposed in the Libertarian Party. The County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office collects property taxes for the county. The office also collects state and county fees; automotive license renewals and registrations; title transfers; beer, wine and liquor licenses; occupational permits; and hotel occupancy taxes. In El Paso County Constable Precinct 4, incumbent Democrat Luis "Louie" Aguilar appears to head to victory with 62.83 percent or 16,212 votes, followed by Republican Ozzie Carrasco with 37.17 percent or 9,589 votes. Aguilar beat Robert Lopez in the Democratic primary, while Carrasco ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Precinct 4 covers portions of the Eastside roughly between George Dieter Drive and Zaragoza Road.
