AUSTIN (KXAN) — Polls have closed and millions of Texans have voted in the Nov. 5 general election. Former President Donald Trump received the most votes in the state, NBC news projects. In addition to the top-of-the-ticket presidential race, Texans also chose to re-elect Ted Cruz to the U.S. Senate, and cast their votes in several statewide and local races. As of Monday evening, 9,060,035 Texas votes were cast, for a statewide turnout of 48.65%. More than 18.6 million Texans are currently registered to vote, according to the Secretary of State’s office.
