President Biden’s granddaughter Naomi Biden announced on Election Day that she is expecting her first child.
In an Instagram story on Tuesday, the president’s eldest grandchild posted a photo of herself in the mirror, highlighting her baby bump with an “I voted” sticker on the side of her stomach.
She captioned the photo “(we) voted,” with an emoji of an American flag and of an upside-down smiley face.
The child would be the president’s first great-grandchild.
Naomi Biden, 30, married her husband at the White House in November 2022. She is the daughter of Hunter Biden, the president’s son who was convicted on gun charges in June. Naomi Biden testified in her father’s trial.
When Biden announced his decision to step aside as the presumptive nominee, his granddaughter said she was proud of his decision.
“I’m nothing but proud today of my Pop, our President, Joe Biden, who has served our country with every bit of his soul and with unmatched distinction,” she said at the time.
“Not only has he been — and will continue to be — the most effective president of our lifetime, but he has likely already cemented himself as the most effective and impactful public servant in our nation’s history,” she wrote on social platform X.
