MCPD: Gaithersburg woman charged after calling police, claiming she killed mother

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Authorities have arrested a Gaithersburg woman after she allegedly called police on Monday to report that she had killed her mother, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).
MCPD said that just before 10 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call from 29-year-old Tiffany Zhang, who reported that she had killed her mother, 63-year-old Guichun Hu, the previous day.
Zhang told police that Hu's body was outside their home, located in the 19400 block of Olive Tree Way, in a nearby grass field.

When officers arrived, they found Zhang waiting outside and Hu dead at the scene. Homicide detectives then responded to assist.

Authorities took Hu's body to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 5, to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Officers took Zhang into custody, charging her with first-degree murder.
