Weather Forecast: Record broken! But what's next?
Nov 05, 2024
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Well, we have broken another record high temperatures today here in Rochester. We broke the record by 4 degrees today, setting a new record of 81 degrees. Clouds will start to move back in later this evening, allowing for temperatures to stay relatively warm.
RECORD BROKEN: Rochester smashes previous record set back in 2022 of 77° on this Election Day. Another interesting point is our current temp ties the current warmest temp recorded in Rochester on any day in Nov. If we surpass 81°, today will be the warmest Nov. day in Rochester pic.twitter.com/Q8JwsFjbu6— Leanne Byer (@LeanneByerwx1) November 5, 2024
Change will start for tomorrow when a cold front slices through the region early Wednesday morning. This front will be rain showers and some cooler temperatures. Highs will most likely reach their peak during the morning hours, meaning that as the day goes on, temperatures will decrease. Our winds will shift from a south-westerly flow to a due westerly flow. Rain showers will move out of the area around lunch time, leaving us with a mixed sky before clearing out heading into the overnight hours.
Skies will remain mostly clear for the end of the week. Partly cloudy skies stick around for Thursday before clearing out completely on Friday. Temperatures for both days will range in the mid to upper 50s. It will be a beautiful way to end the week!
November is looking so warm. We are in the 70s today, warmer than average through the rest of the week, and probably mild heading toward Thanksgiving. I'll go out on a limb and say our first inch of snow does not happen until the holiday (or later). pic.twitter.com/oFvFNdY9EX— James Gilbert (@JamesGilbertWX) November 5, 2024
To kick off our weekend, those sunny skies will persist on through Saturday. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler, only reaching the low 50s for highs. Scattered rain showers will move into the area starting Sunday, giving us a rainy end to the weekend. Temperatures will be marginally warmer.
Rain seems to linger into Monday of next week before tapering off. Highs for Monday and Tuesday will range in the upper 50s to low 60s. Clouds look to dominate our skies for Wednesday, but the warmth will continue on.
