WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- On Tuesday, superheroes dropped in to see some of the children who are patients at Wesley Medical Center. Dropping in means they rappelled down the face of the hospital's acute care tower.
Members of the Wichita Fire Department dressed as Captain America, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Batman, and many other superheroes. After the superheroes went rappelled, they went inside to visit the kids.

"Kind of a fun way to cheer everybody up," Captain Lance Diffenbaugh, WFD, said. "They love it. We've done this once before, four or five years ago, and it was a big hit. So, we've been working to get back in here and do it again. COVID kind of shut it down a few years back."
It helped distract the children from their health issues and helped the firefighters, too.
"It gives us some time with some of the equipment and everything," Captain Dan Houser, WFD, said. "We were glad to, you know, get a chance, the opportunity to do it."
