SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - MGM Springfield is honoring the local heroes and the ones on their very own staff by taking part in flagging veteran tombstones at the Springfield Cemetery. Twice a year, MGM Springfield heads out to a local cemetery to pay their respects to those who give it all for our freedom. "It's just a day to celebrate, and it certainly recognizes those who allow us to have a beautiful life here and freedom," shared Jenn McGrath, Director of Philanthropy, at MGM Springfield. A tradition for MGM Springfield leading up to Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. A small act that could never compare to what they faced and all they gave. "I think many of our staff whether they work with us or have family that represent the military, it's really a story that represents all of us," shared Jenn McGrath, Director of Philanthropy and Community Engagement, MGM Springfield. Across Springfield, various organizations will flag veteran tombstones at cemeteries for every one of the heroes ahead of the Veterans' Day holiday.
