NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – For those wanting a natural Christmas tree in your home this year, the national forests of New Mexico have you covered. Christmas tree permits are going up for sale online for many areas, starting at 8:00 a.m. on November 14. The permit allows you to take home trees up to 20 feet tall. U.S. Forest Service starts reseeding efforts in South Fork burn scar Tree permits are available online at recreation.gov and will cost between $5 and $15.
