Two Santa Fe teens arrested, accused of shooting 16yearold

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Two teens in Santa Fe were arrested for shooting at a vehicle and injuring a 16-year-old on Saturday, according to New Mexico State Police.
Police said an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old were driving to pick up the 16-year-old around 2 p.m. when they noticed that they were being followed by Anthony Cruz Padilla and Abraham Pineda.

After the 16-year-old was picked up, the vehicle stopped at the intersection of NM-599 and Horizon Lane, and that's where Padilla and Pineda allegedly began shooting into the vehicle.
The 16-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
NMSP said Padilla and Pineda fled the scene and were later arrested and booked into the Farmington Juvenile Detention Center, which was the closest available juvenile detention center. Their charges are listed below:
Padilla was charged with:
Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (two counts)
Shooting at or from a motor vehicle resulting in great bodily harm
Shooting at or from a motor vehicle with no injury (two counts)
Conspiracy
Possession of a stolen firearm
Unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon
Pineda was charged with:
Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (two counts)
Shooting at or from a motor vehicle resulting in great bodily harm
Shooting at or from a motor vehicle with no injury (two counts)

This incident remains under investigation by the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau.
