Westbound U.S. Highway 40 from MP 27-32, near Daniels Canyon, closed around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning due to a crash, according to Utah Department of Transportation. UDOT also required traction devices to traverse the area. UDOT Region Three confirmed at 11:57 a.m. that roads were open. Both directions had slow traffic as of 3:35 p.m. Five people required hospitalization, Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Jared Heywood told KPCW. One person was in critical condition.
