Attleboro police ask for assistance in locating larceny suspect

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Attleboro police are seeking assistance in locating a man who allegedly stole money from a liquor store.
On Monday, around 2:25 p.m., Attleboro police responded to a larceny report at ACE Liquors, located on Washington Street in South Attleboro Square.
The suspect allegedly ducked behind the checkout counter and accessed the cash drawer while the clerk was in another part of the store moving inventory.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money.
The clerk was met with a physical altercation after confronting the suspect, who then fled the store by foot.
The suspect is described by police as a white man in his mid-twenties to early thirties, and is known to visit liquor stores in the area.
Police say the man wore grey cargo style sweatpants with black stripes down the leg, a black hooded sweatshirt with a Reebok logo, and black beanie style stocking cap.
The suspect did not have weapons, and police say he is not an active threat.
The clerk was treated for minor injuries.
