The Best Election Day Restaurant Deals and Watch Parties in Portland

Discounted drinks, a chicken meal deal, and more Today, November 5, is Election Day, and Portland bars and restaurants are turning on their television screens for patrons to track local and national races — more than a few will serve specials for the occasion. If you need to get off the couch and stop doomscrolling, congregate with fellow voters at a watch party to celebrate or commiserate. There’s still time to vote! Drop off your ballot to a ballot box by 8 p.m. or in the mail so it’s postmarked with today’s date.

Mad Hanna
Head to Northeast Fremont Street dive bar and music venue Mad Hanna for cocktails and an Election Night “support group” with DJ KittyBot.
Mayfly
The Kenton taproom and bottle shop is turning on its TVs and helping take the edge off Election Day with drink specials. Show the bartender you voted and receive your first drink for $2. All additional drinks will be $2 off regular price.
Old Town Brewing
Former cidermaker Reverend Nat, who is a candidate for Portland City Council district 2, will host an Election Night party at Old Town Brewing’s Northeast beer hall starting at 7 p.m.
Radio Room
As is tradition for the Northeast Alberta Street bar, Radio Room will have its big screen on for election results starting in the early evening. Happy hour runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mid-century-inspired lounge, but patrons can quell Election Night nerves with cocktails like spiced lemon drops or zero-proof phony Negronis all night.
The Sports Bra
Jenny Nguyen’s women’s sports-focused bar is regularly closed on Tuesday, but will open at 7 p.m. on Election Night for a watch party. Expect dishes like glazed chicken wings served with herbed cabbage slaw, tempeh Reubens, and turmeric chickpea-battered cauliflower.
Suki’s
The SW 4th Avenue location of Suki’s will open its doors at 3 p.m. for an election watch party. Happy hour will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with snacky Korean fusion dishes like kimchi dirty fries, ahi poke nachos, and bulgogi beef tacos. Karaoke starts at 9 p.m.
Tomorrow’s Verse Taproom
The cozy Fremont taproom invites folks to join them for pints and “a night of democracy in action” starting at 5 p.m. The taproom serves bar snacks like pub mix and stuffed olives, plus vegetarian turnovers from Pacific Pie Co. in flavors like curried samosa and Beyond Meat Italian sausage with peppers and onions.
Workers Tap
The worker-owned beer bar will have its TV on and tuned into local and national races. Pro tip: the bar is less than a half-mile from the Multnomah County Elections office if you have yet to turn in your ballot. Grab some wings at Erica’s Soul Food on the back patio.

Eat: An Oyster Bar
North Williams oyster bar Eat is running food and drink specials for Election Night: $10 for a half-dozen oysters, $18 for a dozen oysters, 20 percent off bottles of champagne, and $1 off draft beer and glasses of wine.
Freeland Spirits
The distillery’s Northwest District tasting room is offering half-off cocktails on Election Day. Freeland’s seasonal cocktail menu includes drinks like a fall gin and tonic (Freeland gin, pear and cinnamon syrup, pear bitters), Strange Magic (Freeland Forest gin, wild mushroom syrup, white miso, muddled dill, black pepper bitters), and the Pumpkin King (Freeland dry gin, pumpkin spice Portland Syrup, cold brew, oat milk). Paninis and snacks like truffle potato chips and herbed popcorn are available for those who work up an appetite.
Olympia Provisions
All of Olympia Provisions’ restaurants (Alpenrausch, Bar Casa Vale, Grand Amari, and Olympia Provisions) are offering half off bottles of wine under $100 during dinner service.
Xiao Ye
Hollywood District “first-generation American food” restaurant Xiao Ye is offering an Election Day to-go dinner special. For $54, the meal includes a half fried chicken, a roasted Japanese sweet potato and miso-orange butter, celery root slaw, pickles, and curry jus. Orders will be taken over the phone during dinner service, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Wonderwood Springs
Artist Mike Bennett is giving away free I Voted stickers with no purchase necessary at his whimsical St. Johns cafe Wonderwood Springs. The cafe will close at 3 p.m. on Election Day so its staff can take time to vote.
