Kentwood man killed in Amitearea crash

AMITE, La. (WGNO) — A Kentwood man is dead following a crash that occurred in the Amite area on Tuesday, Oct. 5.
According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop L started investigating the crash, which happened on Louisiana Highway 16 near Pine Meadow Road, around 5:40 a.m.
Suspect sought in Harvey homicide investigation
The initial investigation showed that 61-year-old Corey Denney was driving a 1998 Toyota Tundra east on Highway 16 when, for reasons that are still being investigated, the truck veered off the roadway and overturned.
Denney wasn't restrained when the crash happened and he was taken to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. A toxicology sample was taken from him as part of the ongoing investigation.
