MLEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fifty thousand people in Shelby County had cast their votes on Election Day Tuesday by the latest count, at 3 p.m. Many more votes are likely to come in by the time polls close at 7 p.m. across Tennessee, but Election Administrator Linda Phillips said the rain is "not helping." Polling locations saw a "dramatic drop-off" once the rain started, Phillips said.  Live Election Results: Presidential and other races in TN, MS and AR She says there were “minor problems” at the polls Tuesday, including one power outage for about 20 mins at the Mt. Pisgah precinct. It was resolved before they could get the generator out.  She asked for patience and said it will be a "long night" for results here. She says it could be days before we get results across the country in certain states.  As of Oct. 25, 145,743 had voted early in Shelby County, down from 219,454 in 2020, up from 131,173 in 2016.
