BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Orchard Park in Class A, Starpoint in Class B, and Akron in Class C won Section VI field hockey championships. Sectional champions advance to Far West Regionals against winners from Section III on Wednesday at Webster Schroeder. Ella Forcucci scored twice and Halle Senfield had a goal with two assists in Orchard Park's 4-0 win against Lancaster in the A title game. In the B final, Natalie Prezioso had a goal in regulation and Julia Lukasik got the deciding tally in a shootout as Starpoint prevailed over Clarence 2-1 and win its first sectional title in 30 years. Morgan Tomporowski scored a hat trick with the overtime winner as Akron defeated Eden 3-2 to claim its fifth consecutive C crown. *** Jonah Bronstein joined the WIVB squad in 2022 as a digital sports reporter.
