ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York Department of Transportation shared the new locations for work zone speed cameras for the beginning of November. According to the DOT's website, the locations for these 20 cameras have been placed along the highways of the state. Two of those cameras are located in Monroe County. One of the cameras was placed on I-490 back in September at Alexander Street. The second was placed last Friday on I-390 Southbound between 490 and Chili Avenue. The Department of Transportation says the location and duration of the mobile units will change based on work schedules, weather, and priorities. The I-490 camera's end date is scheduled for Friday and the 390 camera's end date is scheduled for Friday, November 15. These are part of the state's Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program, which was signed into law in September 2021. These capture pictures of speeding vehicles, which leads to the owner of the vehicle being mailed a Notice of Liability. You can find the full list of these cameras below.
