ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Batavia man was charged with DWI and weapon charges after police said he had drugs and a firearm in his car. The New York State Police was called to Lewiston Road to check on a man who was slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle. An investigation uncovered suspected meth, drug paraphernalia, an AR-15-style rifle with a threaded barrel, and 22 rounds of ammo. It was further alleged that the suspect, 42-year-old Jefferson D. Butler, was intoxicated. He was arrested without incident and taken to Genesee County CAP. Butler has been charged with DWI, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.
