SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Election Day has arrived in San Diego County, but when will voters learn the results? According to the county, there are over 1.98 million active registered voters in San Diego and each one has received a ballot in the mail. Mail ballots are counted if they are postmarked on or before Tuesday and received within the next seven days. Those who are not registered can still vote provisionally by 8 p.m. Tuesday. Learn how in the video below. Unofficial election night results trickle in shortly after 8 p.m., including the mail-in ballots as well as those received during the early voting period between Oct. 26 and Nov. 4. After those are counted, election night results will include only the ballots cast prior to polls closing at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the county. Voters will have to wait to learn the next updated set of results as poll workers will be driving in from more than 200 vote centers located within San Diego County. After that, results will be updated until all ballots received at those vote centers have been counted. After election night, more unofficial results are scheduled to be released by 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Another set will be released next Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Nov. 11 through Nov. 15. The Registrar of Voters will post updates at its own discretion. Election results must be certified by Dec. 5.
