(KRON) -- An Oakland man succumbed to his injuries Tuesday night after being run over by a truck he was working on inside a Target parking lot, according to the Emeryville Police Department. Oakland Fire Department personnel, along with Falck paramedics and Emeryville police, responded at 9:14 p.m. to the Emeryville Target store parking lot, located at 1555 40th Street, on the report of a solo vehicle collision. Arriving officers found a white Ford F-150 that appeared to have run over the driver. Oakland businesses board up ahead of election night Paramedics attempted life-saving measures at the scene. However, the driver, identified as a 63-year-old Oakland man, succumbed to his injuries. Police said it appeared that the driver was working on the vehicle in the parking lot before being run over. A security camera recorded the fatal collision, Emeryville PD said. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
