(KRON) -- A man with over 80 feet of stolen copper wiring from AT&T was arrested after a traffic stop in San Pablo, the San Pablo Police Department announced Monday.
Over the weekend, a San Pablo police officer was talking to a driver after conducting a traffic stop and observed he was “acting very nervous,” SPPD said. In plain view through the vehicle’s window, the officer saw over 80 feet of copper wiring and “tools of the trade.”

It was determined that the copper wiring was stolen from AT&T and worth thousands of dollars, police said. The police department added that it costs even more to make repairs.
The suspected thief was booked into the county jail.
“These guys keep meeting the wrong ‘coppers’ in San Pablo,” SPPD wrote in a Facebook post.
