GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Republican Tony Wied, a Green Bay native and political newcomer, is vying to represent Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District, facing off against Democrat Dr. Kristin Lyerly.
Endorsed by former President Donald Trump, Wied is running on a platform that emphasizes economic reform, border security, and a reduction in government spending.
A businessman with over 30 years of experience, Wied previously owned Dino Stop gas stations in northeast Wisconsin, which he sold in 2022.
His campaign highlights his business success, commitment to hard work, and dedication to the people of northeastern Wisconsin, which includes Brown, Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, and Winnebago counties.
On Election Night, Wied and supporters plan to gather at the Legacy Hotel in Green Bay, anticipating a close race in the district.
