FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A hiker had to be hoisted up by helicopter after being injured on Monday evening in Fresno County, Cal Fire said.
According to Cal Fire, crews assisted the Auberry Fire Department with the injured hiker near Smalley Road and Powerhouse Road in New Auberry.
Images from the scene show a California Highway Patrol helicopter hoisting the hiker from a rock clearing. Crews say the hiker was then transferred to a Skylife helicopter which then flew to a local hospital.
The extent of the hiker's injuries has not been released, but updates will be provided as they become available.
