PRINCETON — On Saturday, December 14, at 4 p.m., Trinity Church in Princeton will host a concert featuring Voices Chorale NJ and the Trenton Children’s Chorus. The performance, titled “Sing Out, My Soul!”, will celebrate the holiday season with a program showcasing Vivaldi’s Gloria and contemporary choral compositions. Vivaldi’s masterful Gloria, written over 300 years ago, will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble. The choir will be joined by members of the Trenton Children’s Chorus to depict the Christmas story through Vivaldi’s music. The program will also feature a mix of old and new texts set to compositions by contemporary composers. From a heartfelt Hanukkah prayer to a song of rejoicing in Latin, the concert will present contrasting musical settings of the same texts to highlight their beauty. The performance will conclude with the combined choirs singing “Sing Out, My Soul!” by Marques Garrett, creating an uplifting experience for the audience.
