LOS BANOS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — Los Banos Police said Monday the report behind a teen's gunshot wound on Wednesday was fabricated.
According to officers, they responded to Memorial Hospital after receiving reports of a gunshot wound victim on Wednesday.
There, officers say a 16-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound stated he had been walking toward the 76 gas station in Los Banos from the 400 block of W K Street when he heard one shot.
After numerous search warrants, interviews, canvassing, and re-interviewing the teen, officers say he admitted to fabricating the report and confirmed his wound was due to an accidental shooting.
