Deputies name man who crashed into Fresno CHP investigating deadly crash

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The man who crashed into a CHP vehicle as they were investigating a deadly crash has been named by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
The California Highway Patrol states in the early morning hours of Sunday they responded to Kearney Boulevard west of Fair Avenue in Fresno County for a reported injury collision.

As officers responded, they report a man, identified by the Sheriff as 25-year-old Jaime Sandoval of Kerman, collided with the back end of one of their vehicles.
CHP says no one was in the vehicle at the time of the collision and that only Sandoval sustained minor injuries.
Investigators report Sandoval was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. This is his second DUI since 2018.
Deputies say the victim in the other crash CHP was initially investigating has yet to be identified due to burns.
