(KRON) -- A San Jose man was arrested in connection with 113 retail thefts throughout the city, the San Jose Police Department said Monday.
Johnny Pena, 41, was arrested on Oct. 28 after he was accused of stealing "tens of thousands" of merchandise, SJPD said. Affected stores include The Home Depot, Lowe's, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Target.

"This is an example of someone who has a blatant disregard for the law, victimizing over one hundred businesses here in San José," SJPD Chief Paul Joseph said. "Our Organized Retail Theft Detail has done an outstanding job in making sure suspects like Johnny Pena know what happens when they commit these crime sprees in our city."
SJPD says its investigation into Pena was made possible by a $8.4 million grant given to the department by the California Board of State and Community Corrections.
Pena was arrested for grand theft. He is being held at the Santa Clara County Main Jail without bail.
