CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Secretary of State William Galvin expects voter turnout in Tuesday's election to exceed the 3.7 million who voted in 2020. With 1.7 million ballots returned so far, he anticipates more mail-in ballots to arrive in the next 28 hours. Galvin attributes the increased turnout to expanded voting options that residents have embraced. Tracy Friedenberg of Springfield tells 22News, "I chose the mail-in ballot because I figured tomorrow's going to be a little chaotic--and lots of people. I figured it would be easier to get it out of the way and not have to worry about fitting it into my schedule."
