Man dies following Plaquemines Parish ATV crash

PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a man dead in Plaquemines Parish.
On Oct. 23, the LSP reported that 22-year-old Alec Pelas was driving an ATV south on Louisiana 23 while a GMC was driving north around 1:15 p.m.

The ATV then reportedly crossed the centerline and hit the GMC.
Pelas suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Nov. 3. According to the LSP, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the GMC was uninjured.
LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing and routine toxicology samples were collected.
