EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A Las Cruces home suffered about $75,000 in damage from a fire early Monday morning, Nov. 4, the Las Cruces Fire Department said.
The fire happened at about 5 a.m. Monday along the 4200 block of Salvia Loop.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found fire and heavy smoke coming from the home's garage.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 15 mintues, Las Cruces Fire said.
The fire was contained to the garage.
Fire crews searched the home and found no occupants inside. Crews learned one resident was inside when the fire started and was alerted by a properly working smoke alarm before exiting the home, Las Cruces Fire said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
