RCSD investigates several incidents of possible druggings at local sports bar

Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating several claims of possible drugging at an area sports bar. According to authorities, around 11pm on Halloween night, a young woman flagged down passing deputies and informed them that she and a friend were at TLC Sports Bar and Grill along Stadium Road. According to officials she believed her friend may have had her drink drugged. The woman was taken to an area hospital by EMS.
The following day, RCSD says they received another similar report around 2:20am from an area hospital. Once authorities arrived at the hospital to speak with the alleged victim who said she believed she had been drugged while at the TLC Sports Bar and Grill. Officials say there was another comparable incident reported September 13. The woman in this incident was also taken to the hospital where deputies say she told them she too believed she had been drugged while at the same location.
Due to both incidents being so similar in nature and at the same location, RCSD is sending out a warning asking people to be aware that possible narcotics are being put into alcoholic beverages at the establishment. Authorities encourage you t always be aware of your surroundings, and never leave your drink unattended. Sheriff Leon Lott says these woman were fortunate that each of them were with friends who were able to get them assistance and alert authorities but Lott says “it could have had greater consequences”.
