Nov 04, 2024
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The clock is ticking down to Election Day with voters rushing to cast their ballots while they can.
If you haven't voted in this election, you still have options to cast your ballot.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can drop off your ballot in a drop box at any time before 8 p.m., or mail it by Election Day. But if it's postmarked after Nov. 5, it won't be counted.
How to register to vote in Kern County
That means it has to be in the mailbox before the last pick up on Tuesday, or it won't be postmarked on time. If you cannot find your ballot, you can visit any polling site to vote in person.
Staff will check voting records on electronic tablets if your vote has been cast already. But don't vote twice, or you'd be breaking the law.
Take your time to vote, when the clocks hit 8 p.m., elections staff will stop anyone else from lining up at the polling sites and drop boxes.
