COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Columbus police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting over the weekend that left one man dead.
On Monday, police identified Treh D. East, 29, as the man who was found shot early Sunday morning on Columbus' east side.
According to police, the shooting was reported on the 3300 block of East 5th Avenue just after 5:45 a.m. East was pronounced dead at the hospital at 6:21 a.m.
Awil Salah Mohamed, 30, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. He surrendered to police on Sunday without incident.
Police said an altercation between Mohamed and East led to the shooting.
Mohamed is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13. He is currently being held in Franklin County Jail on a murder charge.
