ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — RTS unveiled a wrapped bus to honor military veterans Monday. The bus, set to appear in the Veterans Day parade on Saturday, will be in service throughout the month of November. In 2020, RTS launched a program with the Veterans Outreach Center offering free bus rides to military veterans. To date, the VOC has given out approximately 2,000 passes to veterans, and RTS has given over one million rides. "We know that a lot of services veterans use can't be accessed without the transportation to get there, and transportation shouldn't be their barrier to a successful transition home. This partnership is about more than just rides. It really means that our veterans are able to come home and thrive," VOC Executive Director Laura Heltz said.
