Suspect in deadly Fresno shooting arrested in Madera County

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno Police Department announced the arrest of a 34-year-old man in Madera following a deadly shooting on Friday at a northwest Fresno apartment complex.
Investigators say 34-year-old Gerrick Franklin was named as a suspect Friday for the death of 33-year-old Tyler Hamon.

According to police, on Friday shortly after midnight, officers responded to a reported shooting victim at the Windscape Apartments located at 353 W. Nees.
Officers said they found bullet holes through the front door and cartridge casings on the upstairs landing. Inside the apartment, police found Hamon in a back bedroom, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
Harmon was transported to the hospital where he later died. Detectives say they were able to identify Franklin as the person who fatally shot Hamon.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and on Sunday, Franklin was located in Madera County and arrested by the Madera County Sheriff's Office. Franklin was booked at the Fresno County Jail on homicide charges.
