Carter shot at a crowd of people in front of the church after he was barred from attending a funeral in June of 2023. Some in the crowd returned fire, striking him in the arm.
He was sentenced Monday to two years in prison. The sentence will run concurrently with a previous sentence he received for ramming a police vehicle.
Carter will serve a total of 196 months or roughly 9½ years in prison.
