By Halie KinesCentre Daily Times Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce was in Happy Valley on Saturday for the highly anticipated Penn State football game against Ohio State, but his viral moment had nothing to do with either of those things. A video posted on X, formerly Twitter, shows a man wearing a blue hoodie outside of Beaver Stadium confronting Jason and using a homophobic slur about Travis Kelce, Jason’s younger brother and tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The man also referred to Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift. “Hey Kelce, how does it feel, your brother’s a f— dating Taylor Swift?” the man yelled. The video shows Kelce turning around, taking the man’s phone, and throwing it on the ground. When Kelce bent down to pick the phone up, the man shoved him, as seen in a video obtained and published by TMZ. “Give me my phone, Kelce,” the man says while shoving him. Kelce responds: “Who’s the f— now?” The videos were first posted before noon kickoff Saturday and have since gone viral. There’s been a mixed reaction to Kelce’s response online, with some upset with him also using a slur. But many others have come to his defense and praised him for standing up for his family. Kelce was in town with ESPN College GameDay after Pat McAfee, a former NFL punter for the Indianapolis Colts and current host on ESPN, invited him to his kicking contest on the pregame show. Kelce retired from the Eagles after 13 years in March and shortly after signed on to be an analyst for ESPN, where he appears on Monday Night Countdown. The Kelce brothers also have a popular podcast together, “New Heights.” Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.
