The City Council will meet Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Agenda highlights include the following items: China Bridge Five-year Investment Plan Presentation Per Council direction, Parking and Engineering teams will present a recommended five-year capital investment plan for the China Bridge Parking Structure. According to the investment plan table made available ahead of the meeting, the five-year investment plan totals $3,270,506.89. The team also delineated the costs by year. For 2024, the team has budgeted $280,115.The engineering team’s recommendations fall into three categories by urgency: top-level actions are labeled as “urgent” and should happen this year. They are required for the safe operation of the parking structure or to prevent rapid deterioration this winter, according to a staff report. “Priority” tasks would be slated for 2025 and are related to the structural integrity of the parking structure for the next five to 10 years.“Preventative Maintenance” actions would take place 2026 to 2028 and involve coatings to protect the structure long-term through preventing water and salt intrusion.See the full cost breakdown at the city’s website: parkcityut.portal.civicclerk.com/event/263/files/attachment/7121.Main Street Plan Area Plan Update The Council will receive an update on the Main Street Area Plan Advisory Committee’s concepts for future Main Street-area improvements, investments and amenities. While there will be no public comment taken during this work session, interested residents can bring their feedback to the Nov. 12 engagement sessions. Veterans Day Resolution Council will approve a resolution recognizing Nov. 11, 2024, as Veterans Day, to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans who have honorably served in the United States Armed Forces. Park City Youth Advisory Council Announcement The first Park City Youth Advisory Council (PCYAC) is set to launch. Park City High School junior Ellen Kuck, who was involved in establishing the PCYAC, will play a key role in promoting the initiative at area public and private schools. Students can apply, and a selection committee will choose up to 10 students to serve on the inaugural PCYAC starting in December. According to a staff report, the advisory council will be open to students in grades 7-12, and membership in the PCYAC is aimed at those interested in local government and community issues. Selection for the Council will be based on interest, commitment and the ability to represent a diverse range of perspectives.Recreation Update on Aquatics and Community Center Projects The Recreation team will update the Council on final designs for two major infrastructure projects.
