PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — All of Rhode Island’s Division I basketball teams officially begin their seasons Monday night.
The men's and women's teams at Providence College, the University of Rhode Island, Brown University and Bryant University are ready to hit the court.
Providence College
Men
In Kim English's first year, he led the team to their third straight 20-win season and spent two weeks in the Associated Press Top 25. This season, the team is without Big East Player of the Year Devin Carter, but Bryce Hopkins returns from an ACL injury that ended his season in January.
The Friars open their season at home against Central Connecticut at 7 p.m.
Women
Head Coach Erin Batth is entering her second season in Providence after a mediocre first year. However, Providence has their top six scorers from coming back this season, with Olivia Olsen leading the way in both points and rebounds.
The Friars are hosting Mercy University at home at 7 p.m.
University of Rhode Island
Men
Head Coach Archie Miller is once again leading a team with a lot of new players. However, their recent exhibition performance against the two-time defending national champion University of Connecticut had some surprises.
The Rams open their season at home against Fairfield at 8 p.m.
Women
Head Coach Tammi Reiss is entering her sixth season leading the Rams. Even though the team will look different, Sophie Phillips, Anaelle Dutat and Ines Debroise are still returning to Kingston.
The Rams open their season at home against Stonehill at 5:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs are opening their season at home against Dean College at 8 p.m.
Women
The Bulldogs are looking to continue where they left off last season after hosting their first playoff game since 2016-17. Head Coach Lynne-Ann Kokoski is back for her second season and has six returning players.
Bryant opens their season at home against Merrimack at 6 p.m.
Brown University
Men
Brown is ranked third in the Ivy League preseason polls with two-time All-Ivy League guard Kino Lilly Jr. returning for another season. They are also coming off their first-ever Ivy League Tournament appearance and first-ever trip to the Ivy League Championship game.
The Bears open their season on the road at Siena for a 7 p.m. game.
