The butchered remains of a common dolphin were found on a beach in Allenhurst, New Jersey, on Oct. 30, according to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine. The carcass appeared to have been cut up with a sharp instrument. It is illegal to harass, hunt, capture, collect or kill dolphins. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is investigating the incident.
