St. Bernard Parish drug investigation leads to two arrests

ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two people were arrested after an investigation led to a drug bust in St. Bernard Parish.
On Monday, Nov. 4, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office reported that 27-year-old Jerry Gabriel and 29-year-old Markeice Jefferson were arrested following the conclusion of an investigation by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit.

During the investigation, SBSO agents said they recovered a gun, $5,950 in cash and a digital scale from Gabriel's home.

SBSO officials said Gabriel faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute Tapentadol, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, obstruction of justice - evidence tampering, illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses and drug paraphernalia.
Jefferson faces a charge of possession of Tapentadol.
