Photo by Glenn Russell/VTDiggerIf you’re not among the more than 40% of registered Vermont voters who have already cast a ballot, you’ll need to head to your polling location on Election Day. Here’s what you need to know about voting in person — including how, when and where to cast your ballot. How to find your polling placeIf you’re voting in person Tuesday, your polling location depends on the town or city in which you live. While some towns in Vermont have just one polling location, others may not have a polling place of their own or may have multiple polling locations. To find yours, you can log into the Vermont Secretary of State’s My Voter Page. Once you are logged in, you can scroll down to find the name, street address and operating hours of your polling place. You can also find all of the state’s polling locations on this interactive map, as well as an Election Day FAQ compiled by the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office.Polling place hoursWhile all polling locations close at 7 p.m. Tuesday, not all locations in Vermont open at the same time. Some open as early as 6:30 a.m., while others as late as 10 a.m.You can find the time your polling place opens by using this interactive map provided by the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office. Simply find your location and click on it to see what time it opens, as well as the street address.Keep in mind that you may also experience wait times at the polls. Those may be especially long during high-traffic periods, such as before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m., when many are on their way to work or heading home. Lunch hour could also contribute to another high-traffic time at the polls. What else do you need to know to vote Tuesday?
