MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A 15-year-old was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting in South Memphis in August of this year. On August 14, just before 8 p.m., Memphis Police responded to a shooting at Friendly Food Mart at 740 East McLemore Avenue. A man was taken in critical condition to Regional One hospital, where he later died. On November 1, just after 10 p.m., officers were on patrol on Sycamore View Road and Shelby Oaks Drive when they saw a Toyota Camry with expired temporary tags. 4 teens, 12-year-old girl arrested for robbery spree They stopped the car and spoke with the driver and passengers, who allegedly smelled like marijuana. Officers reportedly found a weapon and marijuana inside of the car. The car tag was also determined to be fake, according to MPD. Deniro Tate, 18, and a 15-year-old boy were detained. Deniro Tate (SCSO) The 15-year-old was charged with First-Degree Murder in connection with the McLemore Avenue shooting in August. He also was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Marijuana and unlawful carrying or Possession of a Weapon. Deniro Tate, 18, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Violation of Vehicle Registration Law, and Altering, Falsifying, or Forging Auto Titles or Assignment Plates. He was released on his own recognizance.
