MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was injured after an overnight shooting at a South Memphis apartment complex, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Officers say they responded to the Cane Creek Apartments on Ragan Street three times regarding a shots fired call.
The first shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday after the victim told police he and someone he knows got into a verbal argument.
During the dispute, the man he was arguing with attempted to pull out a gun but the victim was able to grab it before shots were fired.
That is when a black Infiniti with two men inside drove up, the victim said. A command was given, by the gunman who was unable to fire his weapon, for the other two men to "kill" the victim.
No one was reported hit by gunfire, but property was left damaged.

Officers say around 10:45 p.m. they responded to the same complex for the second time regarding apartment units being struck by gunfire.
Just before 4 a.m., officers returned to the complex for their third time regarding a shooting incident.
Police say a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He allegedly managed to get away by hopping over a fence but he is expected to be ok.
MPD also says that these incidents are related.
