1 shot, killed on near northwest side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a person was shot and killed on the near northwest side of Indianapolis on Monday morning.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department dispatched at approximately 8:19 a.m. on a report of a person shot in the 600 block of W. 30th St.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel at the scene and the hospital.
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate. The Marion County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
