West Lafayette police searching for suspect accused of battering couple

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Police are searching for a man accused of battering a couple in West Lafayette Monday morning.
Officers with the West Lafayette Police Department were called around 10 a.m. to the 500 block of Northwestern Avenue in response to a reported battery.
WLPD said witnesses described the reported suspect as a white male wearing a dark jacket and a Colts baseball cap who was responsible for allegedly battering a man and woman while they walked along the street.
The suspect fled on foot before police arrived on the scene.

WLPD said witnesses reported hearing the suspect make a comment about the world ending moments before the attack occurred.
