GRANT COUNTY, Ind. — A former Taylor University employee has been sentenced to more than 25 years in prison.
According to Indiana's public court reporting system, Jeffrey Marsee faced two counts of child exploitation, four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of child molestation with a victim less than 14 years old.
Marsee pleaded guilty to the four counts of possession of child pornography and the single count of child molestation. The other two child exploitation charges on his ledger were dismissed with prejudice.
As part of his plea deal, Marsee received a three-year prison sentence for the four counts of possession of child pornography he faced. He was sentenced to 25 years with the Indiana Department of Correction for the child molestation charge he pleaded guilty to.
Previous reporting indicates Marsee was arrested by Indiana State Police in January 2021. ISP began looking into Marsee's activity after they received a request to do so from the Taylor University Police Department.
During its investigation, ISP discovered Marsee committed sex acts with a juvenile in 2002. Further examination of his electronic devices revealed that he uploaded photos depicting child pornography to an online chat group in 2016.
Marsee was dismissed by Taylor University on Dec. 11, 2020. Sentencing orders were issued in his two cases on Oct. 28.
